Hi, This issue was also filed in the Scala trac, <http://lampsvn.epfl.ch/trac/scala/ticket/1380>. A fix was committed five days ago, so it will be part of Scala 2.8.0.
But META_INF/ shouldn't be listed there twice anyway 8as it might break other programs and is really not a feature but a quirk), so this bug should be better reassigned to the openjdk-6 package.
