#this bug is not reproducible for everybody, there are other people for which
oolite works in stable

Package: oolite
Version: 1.65-5
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

This happens every time, with a just-installed oolite:

Hello,

Sorry for the delayed reply, real life is demanding lately.

--- snip ---
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ oolite
oolite: Uncaught exception NSInvalidArgumentException, reason: Tried to add
nil to array

Looking for this error lead me to a similar bug:

http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?20453

It seems the reason there is that there are GUI calls from a secondary thread.

Oolite uses threads and I suspect this bug might be similar, still before going
on that path...

Please ask for detailed information, I do not know what would be helpful.

Doing it right now ;-)

Versions of packages oolite depends on:
ii gnustep-base-runtime 1.13.0-7 GNUstep Base library
ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13etch7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries
ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl 6.5.2-5~etch A free implementation of the OpenG
ii libglu1-mesa [libglu1] 6.5.1-0.6 The OpenGL utility library (GLU)

I see your system has libgl1-mesa-glx and libglu1-mesa are not the same version, while libgl1-mesa-glx seems to be an unofficial etch version.

Would you be kind enough to downgrade libgl1-mesa-glx to the official etch version, or upgrade ibglu1-mesa to the same version as libgl1-mesa-glx and see if the bug is still reproducible?

ii libgnustep-base1.13 1.13.0-7 GNUstep Base library
ii libobjc1 1:4.1.1-21 Runtime library for GNU Objective-
ii libsdl-image1.2 1.2.5-2+etch1 image loading library for Simple D
ii libsdl-mixer1.2 1.2.6-1.1+b2 mixer library for Simple DirectMed
ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.11-8 Simple DirectMedia Layer
ii oolite-data 1.65-2 Data files for the space-sim game
oolite recommends no packages.
