First we have: > smpeg (0.4.5+cvs20030824-2.1) unstable; urgency=low > . > * Non-maintainer upload. > * Build with a 2 line patch to not need an executable stack. > Closes: #445595 > For background see: > http://etbe.coker.com.au/2008/08/11/executable-stacks-lenny/
Which got a bug filed: http://bugs.debian.org/496549 It failed to build on arm because of mmx problems. And then we get: > smpeg (0.4.5+cvs20030824-2.2) unstable; urgency=high > . > * Non-maintainer upload. > * Build with a 2 line patch to not need an executable stack, new version of > the patch to use the latest version of progbits. > Closes: #445595 > For background see: > http://etbe.coker.com.au/2008/08/11/executable-stacks-lenny/ The previous changelog is missing, causing confusion for the BTS. It now thinks that -2.1 never existed, so this bug doesn't apply to anything. But the changelog doesn't mention fixing anything related to it, and it now seems to be fixed. You also had a blog post about mxx things. So I wonder if that is related or not. Do you know if: - The version in testing (0.4.5+cvs20030824-2) also has this problem? If so, can you mark the bug as found there? - Did you fix this in -2.2? If so, can you close the bug with the right version?
