Greetings,
There is a licensing problem with the "memtester" package included in Debian.
I tried to report this to the package maintainer, but your system reports the
address is no longer valid.
Here is a copy of my original report:
Greetings,
You apparently packaged my `memtester` software utility for the Debian
project. However, you've stated the wrong license terms in your package.
My software is licensed under /only/ version 2 of the GPL, but your package
states the typical FSF "or any later version", which does not apply to any of
my software.
This is clearly visible in the Debian diff:
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/m/memtester/memtester_2.93.1-2.diff.gz
Please update all memtester packages' licensing information. In addition, it
would be nice if this package was kept up to date; the Debian package is two
years old and has not been updated to version 4 of memtester, which has much
nicer code and a better/more portable build system.
Thanks.
Charles
