Thanks Christophe.  As one who has maintained the uploaders, your voice
carries special weight here.

I've committed my proposed changes, and successfully tested the
package's examples.  Haven't tested scotch lately, but tested it a while
ago and it worked fine.

Now we just need scotch shared libs...
