However, that did *not* work: It turns out that was because the autoconf2.13 package was installed and the wrapper picked up the wrong autoconf version. After removing autoconf2.13, `debian/rules autofiles-sync' succeeded and emacs21 built fine after that. I refrain from attaching a debdiff since it's 15k lines long because of the huge differences in autofiles.diff. If anybody is interested and does not want to run `debian/rules autofiles-sync' himself, I can send it, though.
