Hi Daniel, Note that this issue on hppa is also different from #431054 and friends because it does not "solve" itself with recent kernels. I'm now running 2.6.22 on that box, but the issue is still there.
This really is getting rather annoying. Unfortunately I lack the skills needed to trace this myself, but if it would help getting this issue traced/resolved, I can give you full access to my hppa box. Cheers, FJP P.S. I'm currently also seeing occasional fairly random segfaults in aptitude on amd64 :-( A simple restart of aptitude is always sufficient to continue. I'll file a BR once I see some kind of pattern emerging.
