And why do you think (I would assume you are a knowledgeable person) that this is a ttf-opensymbol bug at all? Everything ttf-opensymbol does it shipping a font and (as every other font package) calling fc-cache, which fails for some reason, but that's not in ttf-opensymbols realm. I can understand clueless users file those bugs (although they are then not less annoying) but I didn't think you would do..
