Sure, env gives as output the attached file. After purging the sid fp-compiler package, and reinstalling, the problem does not occur again. Very strange, but I cannot reproduce the problem. I suppose the bug can be closed now? The problem did occur when using 'fpc' without any parameters, or when using 'fpc x.pas -Mdelphi' with a trivial program. Jochem
