According to the #kvm IRC channel the following error:
$ modprobe kvm-intel
        WARNING: Error inserting kvm

        (see dmesg)
        FATAL: Error inserting kvm_intel
        (/lib/modules/2.6.22-1-686/misc/kvm-intel.ko):
        Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter
        (see dmesg)

is caused by the lack of CONFIG_HIGHMEM64G in the kernel.
$ uname -a
        Linux mybox 2.6.22-1-686 #1 SMP Sun Jul 29
        14:37:42 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
is a stock kernel. should this be crossposted for the kernel?
