To reproduce this I just do: (in ~/Desktop) touch test rm test After having gamin running for a while this stops showing the new file in the Desktop. Doing a "killall -HUP gam_server" solves the problem. I'm not sure but this could be happening after S3 suspend/resume cycles, altough not every cycle triggers this. Maybe gam_server is getting confused with the date jumping too fast. I have an asus M2400N centrino laptop running today's Debian Sid with kernel 2.6.9-ac13 and libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20.
