I have a workaround for this problem. Create a symbolic link with the following command: ln -s /usr/lib/osgPlugins/ /usr/lib/osgPlugins-1.9.7 The plugins are searched in the path /usr/lib/osgPlugins-1.9.7 instead of /usr/lib/osgPlugins. With the symbolic link they are found and the osg* programs work again. Perhaps you have to check where this path is set in the source code or maybe in a compile parameter and change it to the correct path so that the package works without this workaround. I discovered this by doing an strace on osgviewer.
