Package: ftp.debian.org Severity: serious Justification: No permission to distribute
Hi, The wxwidgets2.5 source package was due to be removed shortly (in a slightly more orderly fashion) and replaced by the 2.6 release, cf. #305300 Serious problems with the licence of some files in the 2.5.3.2 package have since been found that can't wait for that and this package should now be removed asap. The wxwindows2.4-2.4.2.6 packages in testing are also subject to this, though the 2.4.2.6.1 upload (see #306013), should push them out now as soon as the buildd's catch up and well meaning idiots stop filing duplicates of #305300 wrongly against the 2.4 packages. This is going to mean yanking a bunch of dependent packages, but none of these were slated for Sarge (and all of this should have stayed in experimental if people didn't want ! x86 ports handed to them prebuilt), and I'll take any heat from the maintainers of those. Most should be pretty aware the switch to 2.6 was close at a minimum. I'm trying to get a viable replacement together for them now. So, in summary: Please remove the wxwidgets2.5 source package entirely. wxwindows2.4-2.4.2.6.1 has the offending files removed and should replace 2.4.2.6 without affecting any dependent packages.
