The upstream author seems to allow linking msmtp against OpenSSL, here is an extract of the README and crypto.{c,h} files : msmtp is released under the GPL with the additional exemption that compiling, linking, and/or using OpenSSL is allowed. I didn't update the copyright file to add this exception for OpenSSL, I didn't like to link against openssl before building this package, but I ensured that I had permissions to link against this library. I will had this exception to the copyright file in the next upload. Maybe this exception needs to be more explicit.
