I was running into the same problems which Martin described while upgrading postfix. I "solved" the problem by uncommenting the newaliases-Section (line 438 - 450) in the postix postinst-Script.
For reference I've saved my configuration at [1]. This configuration was used under postfix 1.x and modified some times ago to be compatible with postfix 2. Postfix is running quite well as before the upgrade to postfix 2.1.5-4
