That looks good. I can not reproduce your behaviour. Not even with
your config. Could you please try as follows:
$ echo "autospawn=no" >> $HOME/.pulse/client.conf
$ pulseaudio -k
$ mocp
To make this change undo just run
$ rm $HOME/.pulse/client.conf
