Well, I'm not enthusiast about the idea of *samba* installs ending up with machines registering the "WORKGROUP" name on the network, when people install samba for File and Print services.....but, as the workgroup question belongs to samba-common I have to admit that the question shouldn't be asked when people only install samba-common just because it's pulled as a dependency (I wonder which one).
