Package: tftpd-hpa Version: 5.0-18 Severity: normal Hi,
I finally dist-upgraded our TFTP server, and was surprised that tftpd-hpa lost all of its configuration in the process, although it even asked for the "TFTP root directory" (with the correct /var/lib/tftpboot default) during the preconfiguration phase. Later during the upgrade: Preparing to replace tftpd-hpa 0.48-2.3 (using .../tftpd-hpa_5.0-18_i386.deb) ... Stopping HPA's tftpd: in.tftpd. Found old configuration file /etc/default/tftpd-hpa. As of version 5.0-1, tftpd-hpa in debian is supported in standalone mode only. Moving /etc/default/tftpd-hpa to /etc/default/tftpd-hpa.old Unpacking replacement tftpd-hpa ... dpkg: warning: unable to delete old directory '/var/lib/tftpboot': Directory not empty [...] Setting up tftpd-hpa (5.0-18) ... Installing new version of config file /etc/init.d/tftpd-hpa ... Starting HPA's tftpd: in.tftpd. Still, after aptitude finished, /etc/default/tftpd-hpa contained: TFTP_OPTIONS="--secure" TFTP_USERNAME="tftp" TFTP_DIRECTORY="/srv/tftp" TFTP_ADDRESS="0.0.0.0:69" while tftpd-hpa.old contained: RUN_DAEMON="yes" OPTIONS="-l -p -c -U 002 -u tftpd -s /var/lib/tftpboot" While the loss of the -p -c -U 002 -u tftpd part is somewhat expected, ignoring the root directory isn't. -- Regards, Feri. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
