I believe it is not really a bug, but a limitation: Netatalk requires multicast which some NICs (virtual or not) perhaps do not provide.
I thought it might be something like that - but figured it was probably better to get that from you guys before raising it as a bug against Xen and see what they make of it.
I'll give it a couple of days and see if anyone else has any comments, then I'll raise a ticket against Xen.
