My last report wasn't entirely accurate. As a non-root owner, if I run: fcrontab /tmp/foo
where foo contains: * * * * * echo "hello, world" I get the following mailed to me: Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Delivery-Date: Mon Sep 26 10:28:00 2005 Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Original-To: wohler Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: by olgas.newt.com (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 0B6A816FE2; Mon, 26 Sep 2005 10:28:00 -0700 (PDT) Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Mon, 26 Sep 2005 10:28:00 -0700 (PDT) From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (fcron) To: undisclosed-recipients:; X-Bogosity: Ham, tests=bogofilter, spamicity=0.004270, version=0.96.1 Before the upgrade, I got something more like: Subject: fcron <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> echo "hello, world" From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (fcron) hello, world One other data point. With my last upgrade, I went from bash 2 to bash 3. I also notice that LOGNAME is set to root, not wohler. USER is set to wohler. I don't how it was before, but it seems that LOGNAME should be wohler. Setting LOGNAME to wohler in the fcrontab has no affect. -- Bill Wohler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://www.newt.com/wohler/ GnuPG ID:610BD9AD Maintainer of comp.mail.mh FAQ and MH-E. Vote Libertarian!
