is it possible you temporarily lost internet connectivity immediately
before resolving stopped? there was recently a thread about this on the
unbound-users mailing list:

if that's the case, you might consider lowering the "infra-host-ttl"
setting in unbound.conf or using the unbound-control "dump_infra"
command.
