Then use (dist|full)-upgrade, as you should? or try apt-get whether it gives ane options? (But well, you need dist-upgrade there, as dependencies of course change and you'll need new packages and simple "upgrade" doesn't do that - as documented) And that should do, given there were no reports of the upgrade breaking because of dependencies.
