I tested both linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-686 2.6.32-5 from
http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20100201T042505Z/
(last change 2010-01-10) and linux-image-2.6.32-5-686
2.6.32-38 from squeeze w/o updates (last change 2011-10-02).
WiFi just works in both cases.

I suggest to put no more time in reproducing this bug and
assume that with any >= squeeze kernel everything is fine.
