Daniel, I intend to update audiofile to the latest upstream release and manage the consequent transition (due to the ABI breakage mentioned by Steve some messages above). Plus, I feel this package would need much work and a even closer eye on it especially during the next transition, so please let me know what you think about: 1. my intention to work on audiofile 2. the opportunity to switch this package to team maintenance, I'm available to maintain it under the umbrella of the Debian Multimedia Maintainers team.
