however, snappy support requires the snappy compression library and
headers to be present at build time, which is not the case for the
debian leveldb package. either the leveldb source package should
build-depend on libsnappy-dev, or the reference to snappy compression
in the package description should be amended to note that the debian
package has been compiled without compression support.
