Package: udisks Version: 1.0.4-2 Severity: minor Western Digital My Passport external USB drives appear to the computer as both a CD drive and a hard disk. The CD drive contains some software that is only useful on Windows.
I see that udev already contains some rules to hide these sorts of partitions, I guess they need to be expanded to match this device. $ /sbin/udevadm info --query=all --name=sr1 P: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb2/2-1/2-1:1.0/host9/target9:0:0/9:0:0:1/block/sr1 N: sr1 S: cdrom3 S: cdrom4 S: disk/by-id/usb-WD_Virtual_CD_070A_57584E304139395331333538-0:1 S: disk/by-label/WD\x20SmartWare S: disk/by-path/pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:1:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:1 E: DEVLINKS=/dev/cdrom3 /dev/cdrom4 /dev/disk/by-id/usb-WD_Virtual_CD_070A_57584E304139395331333538-0:1 /dev/disk/by-label/WD\x20SmartWare /dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:1:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:1 E: DEVNAME=/dev/sr1 E: DEVPATH=/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.7/usb2/2-1/2-1:1.0/host9/target9:0:0/9:0:0:1/block/sr1 E: DEVTYPE=disk E: GENERATED=1 E: ID_BUS=usb E: ID_CDROM=1 E: ID_CDROM_MEDIA=1 E: ID_CDROM_MEDIA_CD=1 E: ID_CDROM_MEDIA_TRACK_COUNT_DATA=1 E: ID_CDROM_MRW=1 E: ID_CDROM_MRW_W=1 E: ID_FOR_SEAT=block-pci-0000_00_1d_7-usb-0_1_1_0-scsi-0_0_0_1 E: ID_FS_LABEL=WD_SmartWare E: ID_FS_LABEL_ENC=WD\x20SmartWare E: ID_FS_TYPE=udf E: ID_FS_USAGE=filesystem E: ID_INSTANCE=0:1 E: ID_MODEL=Virtual_CD_070A E: ID_MODEL_ENC=Virtual\x20CD\x20070A\x20 E: ID_MODEL_ID=070a E: ID_PATH=pci-0000:00:1d.7-usb-0:1:1.0-scsi-0:0:0:1 E: ID_PATH_TAG=pci-0000_00_1d_7-usb-0_1_1_0-scsi-0_0_0_1 E: ID_REVISION=1030 E: ID_SERIAL=WD_Virtual_CD_070A_57584E304139395331333538-0:1 E: ID_SERIAL_SHORT=57584E304139395331333538 E: ID_TYPE=cd E: ID_USB_DRIVER=usb-storage E: ID_USB_INTERFACES=:080650: E: ID_USB_INTERFACE_NUM=00 E: ID_VENDOR=WD E: ID_VENDOR_ENC=WD\x20\x20\x20\x20\x20\x20 E: ID_VENDOR_ID=1058 E: MAJOR=11 E: MINOR=1 E: SUBSYSTEM=block E: TAGS=:seat:systemd:uaccess: E: UDEV_LOG=3 E: UDISKS_PRESENTATION_NOPOLICY=0 E: USEC_INITIALIZED=55353855327 -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.3 APT prefers stable APT policy: (550, 'stable'), (540, 'stable-updates'), (530, 'testing'), (520, 'unstable'), (400, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.1.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages udisks depends on: ii dbus 1.4.16-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libatasmart4 0.17+git20100219-2 ATA S.M.A.R.T. reading and parsing ii libc6 2.13-23 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libdbus-1-3 1.4.16-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.98-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdevmapper1.02.1 2:1.02.67-2 Linux Kernel Device Mapper userspa ii libglib2.0-0 2.30.2-4 GLib library of C routines ii libgudev-1.0-0 164-3 GObject-based wrapper library for ii liblvm2app2.2 2.02.88-2 LVM2 application library ii libparted0debian1 2.3-5 The GNU Parted disk partitioning s ii libpolkit-gobject-1-0 0.103-1 PolicyKit Authorization API ii libsgutils2-2 1.29-1 utilities for devices using the SC ii libudev0 175-3 libudev shared library ii udev 175-3 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo Versions of packages udisks recommends: ii dosfstools 3.0.9-1 utilities for making and checking ii eject 2.1.5+deb1+cvs20081104-7.1 ejects CDs and operates CD-Changer ii hdparm 9.32-1 tune hard disk parameters for high ii mtools 4.0.12-1 Tools for manipulating MSDOS files ii ntfs-3g 1:2010.3.6-1 read-write NTFS driver for FUSE ii ntfsprogs 1:2011.10.9AR.1-4 read/write NTFS driver for FUSE (t ii policykit-1 0.103-1 framework for managing administrat Versions of packages udisks suggests: ii cryptsetup 2:1.1.3-4squeeze2 configures encrypted block devices pn mdadm <none> (no description available) pn reiserfsprogs <none> (no description available) pn xfsprogs <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
