All failed runs of the cron update script have
their output frozen in the MTA spool because there
is no mail directory for 'www-data' and the MTA
fails trying to create it. Part of the problem is
that '/etc/aliases' contains an entry for 'www' but
not 'www-data', but there should be a mechanism to
put the error output in the syslog so problems can
be diagnosed right away, i.e. specify 'MAILTO=root'
in '/etc/cron.d/awstats'.
