i think the arguing is as follows:
- for whatever reasons gem has been a "recommend"s to puredata for ages
- after splitting out "puredata-core",..., installing "puredata" should
still give you exactly the same user experience than before.
- anybody advanced enough to install "puredata-core" rather than
"puredata" would have the knowlegde to tell their package manager to not
install "recommend"ed package if they do wish so ("apt-get install
--no-install-recommends puredata-core")
having said that, i think it's a good idea to move the "recommend"s from
"puredata-core" to "puredata".
