This only indicated the placement of the menubar in the ui.. This a very
strange problem. When is the mixer exactly muted ? as soon as you startup
gnome-volume-control ? Or do you have gnome-volume-control started at login.
And could you please doublecheck with either alsamixer or aumix that the volume
is not muted before you login (Yeah i know, but just to be sure)..
