Source: libusb-1.0 Severity: important Tags: upstream Hello,
libusb-1.0 has not been updated upstream since 1.0.8 in May 2010. Since then a lot of bugs have been fixed. In particular upsteam bug #56 is very annoying for me and users of my software (libccid [2]). This bug has been fixed in 1.0.9-rc3 but a 1.0.9 stable/final version has not yet been released, and may not be released before a few months/years. See mon blog [3] for more information. I know that packaging "not-yet-released" software is not the normal way of doing Debian packages. But libusb is a very special case. Its maintainer do not think that release early/realease often is a good practice and then waits for the perfection. The perfection may not happen before a few years so I ask Debian to package un imperfect but with less bugs software.
