Damn. It seems I got trapped in the same hole as for the last bugreport: if I make sure to properly reboot after the upgrade, then it works. There is still a difference though between 1.7.4 and 1.8.1: previously I could kill pcscd after re-plugging my CryptoStick for it to "work", now pcscd runs as root again and is not killable anymore. Repeatedly killing (-9) scdaemon does the trick though. Is there a saner way for auto-plugging to work without too much hassle?
