Looks like boinc-manager depends on wxwidgets for menus and stuff. I found this Ubuntu bug report that might be related, about a similar problem in wxwidgets: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wxwidgets2.8/+bug/662077
Seems like that problem was fixed in the ubuntu version of wxwidgets 2.8.11.0-0ubuntu7, dunno if that fix made it upstream and/or into Debian.
