Package: memtest86 Version: 3.5-2.2
Distribution: Debian 6.0.2.1-i386-DVD, Updated to Debian 6.0.3-i386-DVD, Using Debian 6.0.3-i386-Update-DVD-Volumes 1 and 2 Hardware: MSI MS-7108 Motherboard with Intel Pentium 4, LGA 775, 3.0 GHz, Dual Processor CPU, Intel 848P, ICH5, 2 GB of 400 MHz DDR SDRAM. Symptoms: Upon being invoked from the "GRUB" boot splash as one of the options, the test display comes up with an indication of single CPU, and runs for a short while. During the 0 write test, it continuously displays memory errors with memory location counter continuously increasing. It locks up the keyboard and does not listen to the "ESC" command. The only exit is by hardware "RESET" button after this point. Comment: The memtest86+ Version 4.10-1.1 does work, and shows flawless memory on the same hardware, under the same conditions. -- Yekta Yekta Gursel, Ph. D.
