Package: xchat
Version: 2.8.8-3.1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

When using Gnome 3.0 on Debian Sid, After connecting to an IRC server there is
a considerably long delay (~1sec) between keypress on the keyboard and the
letter appearing in the chat textbox. This delay does not manifest itself if a
different Window Manager (i.e. XFCE4) is used.

This bug is also present in XChat-Gnome.

The current workaround is to have a different Desktop Environment installed as
a fallback and to log into that other desktop environment instead when the need
to use XChat arises.
