Package: xchat Version: 2.8.8-3.1 Severity: normal Tags: upstream When using Gnome 3.0 on Debian Sid, After connecting to an IRC server there is a considerably long delay (~1sec) between keypress on the keyboard and the letter appearing in the chat textbox. This delay does not manifest itself if a different Window Manager (i.e. XFCE4) is used.
This bug is also present in XChat-Gnome. The current workaround is to have a different Desktop Environment installed as a fallback and to log into that other desktop environment instead when the need to use XChat arises. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.0.4.clem (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages xchat depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 2.2.0-2 ii libc6 2.13-21 ii libcairo2 1.10.2-6.1 ii libdbus-1-3 1.4.16-1 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.98-1 ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-3 ii libfreetype6 2.4.7-2 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.24.0-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.28.8-1 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.7-1 ii libpango1.0-0 1.29.4-2 ii libperl5.12 5.12.4-6 ii libsexy2 0.1.11-2+b1 ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.0e-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.4.4-2 ii libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-5 ii xchat-common 2.8.8-3.1 Versions of packages xchat recommends: ii alsa-utils 1.0.24.2-4 ii libnotify-bin 0.7.4-1 ii libnotify1 0.5.0-2 ii libpython2.6 2.6.7-4 ii tcl8.5 8.5.10-1 ii xdg-utils 1.1.0~rc1-2 xchat suggests no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
