Since gdk-imlib1 must be built with libpng2, my proposal is to ask for the removal of imlib1 and gdk-imlib1. Since gdk-imlib1 underlies basically all of GNOME1, that will force the removal of GNOME1 as was previously mooted: http://lists.debian.org/debian-gtk-gnome/2005/06/msg00027.html Is this okay with the GNOME maintainers?
