What version of xserver-xorg-core do you use? In case its 1.11.x, could you try dowgrading to 1.10.x (from snapshot.debian.org or squeeze-backports, see instructions in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=642757#73 ) or 1.7.x (stable)?
