In /usr/share/doc/kbd/README.Debian, it says,
"The kernel's builtin keymap is saved in /var/lib/kbd/ before loading a
new one on boot. This saved keymap is used by kbdconfig when it feels
it needs to restore a working keymap. This saved keymap is deleted on
reboot/halt to cope with changes in the builtin keymap. This is done by
the /etc/init.d/keymaps.sh script."
However, none of this information is correct. There is neither a
/var/lib/kbd nor a /etc/init.d/keymaps.sh script, and the
/etc/init.d/console-screen.kbd.sh script says nothing about the boottime
keyboard. I suggest the information be corrected -- it would be nice to
know how kbd handles the boottime keyboard. Is there something like
console-tools' install-keymap?
