when running atop in a virtual machine that gets its disk via virtio (via /dev/vda), no DSK statistics are shown by atop inside the VM. I guess that atop only searchs for /dev/[sh]d?. Please consider searching for vd? as well. I hope that /proc and /sys contain useable input data for vd? disks.
