I just did some research on this. I verified that wmanager, keylaunch and vdesk didn't seem to have anything to do with the problem, I think leaving xdm, wm2 and big-cursor itself as possible culprits. On my system, after logging in, the cursor is in a large version of the X_cursor. After minimizing or killing a window or app, it reverts to a small version of the top_left_arrow cursor. I can reset it to the large X_cursor via xsetroot -cursor_name X_cursor or a large version of top_left_arrow with xsetroot similarly, obviously larger than the small version it reverts to after closing with the square on the window tab. I also note that just before switching to the small top_left_arrow, it flips momentarily to a small X_cursor, which might be a clue. Anyway, thanks for any thought given this. As a stop gap, I may set a hot key to reset it, should be possible. :-) Regards, Dallas E.
