As usual, this only occurs when refreshing packages via Synaptic (0.70).
Aptitude and apt-get, as usual, are unaffected:

Purging and reinstalling daptup to force a fresh daptup.conf file does
nothing.
This bug seems described repeatedly as having been fixed.
For me, the fix is to permanently remove the daptup package and do
without it.
