tag 391776 + wontfix thanks I considered rewriting dpatch-get-origtargz to support most compressions (gz, bz2 and xz), but it turned out to be more difficult than first estimated.
Nowadays there's debian/rules get-orig-source and uupdate, which are superior solutions. Therefore, the next upload will remove the dpatch-get-origtargz script, and the dpatch-edit-patch feature that depended on it too. If anyone still uses this feature, they're well advised to switch to debian/rules get-orig-source instead.
