Hello, I built and tested the 0.5.7 release, which includes this patch, and it fixes the issue.
I would like to point out that this bug makes it difficult to run many scripts against network mounts that apply any kind of additional permissions. In our case we are using the 'all_squash' option on some NFS exports, which causes all users to access an export as the same "anonymous" user.
