Package: transmission-gtk
Version: 2.03-2
Severity: normal
Hello
I found a bug in Transmission 2.03 (11030):
I downloaded the data from a torrent earlier and now I wanted to start the
corresponding torrent for this data.
Because I downloaded the data already I told Transmisson the directory where
the data already exists
and started the torrent.
Unfortunately Transmission doesn't set the value for the downloaded
amount of
data for this torrent
to the size of all data for this torrent (or the size all correct data
blocks
for this torrent).
As result I have a share ratio of infinity. In the torrent's properties the
value for downloaded data is set to "none".
In my concrete case I have a torrent with a size of 685,3 MiB and
Transmission
says:
downloaded: none
uploaded: 10,2 MiB
share ratio: [infinity symbol]
I also have another torrent where transmission started downloading before I
could assign the already existing files.
After assigning the already existing files the amount of downloaded data
is much less than the real data size, so the share ratio is calculated
wrong.
The torrent showing this behavior has the following properties (according to
Transmission):
torrent size: 680,3 MiB
downloaded: 7,9 MiB
uploaded: 13,4 MiB
share ratio: 1,71
This Bug affects the global share ratio as well. I noticed that bug a
long time
ago but I didn't find out what causes this until now.
On the transmission website I found no information that someone else had
found
this bug.
Best Regards
Moritz Strohm
