While preparing the latest upload, I found out that the Google Test
authors recommend against distributing the compiled libgtest library.
Instead, users are expected to directly use the sources, located in
/usr/src/test.
That means that my initial fix (checking for libgtest independently of
gtest-config) wasn't really future-proof. In the end I've decided to include
the relevant gtest source files in the source tree (r611) so that the test
suite works both on older systems that do not install gtest*.cc as well as on
upcoming distributions that lack the compiled libgtest library.
Yaroslav, could you remind me of what to write in the debian changelog so that
this bug is automatically closed?
