Hello, Thanks for looking into this. However, closing the bugs is not going to resolve the issue. uim will stay broken. To add some more information I use complex IMs only occasionally, and use xkb for multiple languages that don't require a complex IM. Currently this works for me with scim but this has multiple issues. First of all scim does not work in non-CJK locale at all by default, and it is quite challenging to make both xkb layouts with dead keys and scim to work together. I tried other IMs present in Debian because I heard that scim is no longer very active and is going to be retired in Debian eventually. Unfortunately, uim is no alternative, it does not work for me at all at this point.
