Package: nginx
Version: 1.0.4-1
Severity: wishlist

Please consider adding nginx-light as an alternative dependency to the
transitional
dummy nginx package. This enables users who explicitely want to upgrade
from nginx <1.0 to nginx-light instead of nginx-full to do so, without having
to install nginx-full first, and then changing to nginx-light.

(Installation of the new dummy nginx is always required, because otherwise
you cannot purge the old package, which will remove all of your configs and
logs.)

I'm using backports of 1.0.4 on squeeze and lenny, and almost all of our nginx
setups will run the -light variant.

Here's the changed part of the control file I'm using right now in a custom
backport package (depends and last lines of the description changed):

Package: nginx
Architecture: all
Depends: ${misc:Depends}, nginx-full | nginx-light
Description: small, but very powerful and efficient web server and mail proxy
Nginx (engine x) is a web server created by Igor Sysoev and kindly provided to
the open-source community. This server can be used as standalone HTTP server
and as a reverse proxy server before some Apache or another big server to
reduce load to backend servers by many concurrent HTTP-sessions.
 .
This is a dummy package that selects nginx-full by default, but also can be
installed with nginx-light for upgrading to nginx-light directly.

Thanks!
Greetings,
Hans van Kranenburg
