Yes. As it is a stick where the card is put inside the card cannot be
removed so the complete stick has to be removed to carry it with me.
Try to kill any running pcscd and remove the smart card reader to see if
you also get the syslog line.
I bet you will have the syslog entry even if pcscd is not running. But
you should confirm that.
