Package: scilab Version: 5.2.2-9 Severity: normal
Hi, on a 32 bits Debian system that runs on a 64 bits kernel (for instance the linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64 Debian package), the scilab launch script fails with this error message: $ /usr/bin/scilab Could not load JVM dynamic library (libjava). Error: libjvm.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory If you are using a binary version of Scilab, please report a bug http://bugzilla.scilab.org/. If you are using a self-built version of Scilab, update the script bin/scilab to provide the path to the JVM. The problem might be related to SELinux. Try to deactivate it. Scilab cannot open JVM library. A simple workaround is the following command: $ MODEL=i686 /usr/bin/scilab -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.2 APT prefers proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'proposed-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.39-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages scilab depends on: ii scilab-cli 5.2.2-9 Scientific software package - Comm ii scilab-full-bin 5.2.2-9 Scientific software package for nu Versions of packages scilab recommends: ii scilab-doc 5.2.2-9 Scientific software package (engli Versions of packages scilab suggests: ii scilab-doc-fr 5.2.2-9 Scientific software package (frenc ii scilab-doc-pt-br 5.2.2-9 Scientific software package (Brazi -- no debconf information -- Laurent Bonnaud. http://www.gipsa-lab.inpg.fr/page_pro.php?vid=96 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
