Package: mailman Version: 2.1.5-8 Severity: important if you click the 'subscribe'-button on the web-interface without giving your email-address, mailman returns a success message for your subscription. that may cause lost subscriptions of unexperienced users because they think they are (magically) subscribed, but are not.
in fact the success-message tells them about an confirmation-mail they have to wait for, but most actually do not read the full text. this issue seems to be fixed in version 2.1.6 -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.25-grsec Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages mailman depends on: ii apache [httpd] 1.3.33-6 versatile, high-performance HTTP s ii cron 3.0pl1-86 management of regular background p ii debconf 1.4.30.13 Debian configuration management sy ii exim4 4.50-8 metapackage to ease exim MTA (v4) ii exim4-daemon-heavy [mail-tr 4.50-8 exim MTA (v4) daemon with extended ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii logrotate 3.7-5 Log rotation utility ii pwgen 2.03-1 Automatic Password generation ii python 2.3.5-2 An interactive high-level object-o ii ucf 1.17 Update Configuration File: preserv -- debconf information: * mailman/queue_files_present: * mailman/default_server_language: en mailman/gate_news: false * mailman/site_languages: nl, fr, fi, de, en * mailman/used_languages: de en fi fr nl * mailman/create_site_list: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
