Enjoy your vacations! I'll try to find some time as I'm really excited about
seeing you tackling the problem (I've read your post from June 2nd and it
looked good to me), but unfortunatly my typing time is limited atm and I have
tons of other things (preparing debconf11, trying to get debian edu squeeze
out) to do atm :/
That said, hacking on piuparts is a good way to break out from my routines, so
this might happen earlier than I assume now... ;)
